Wedding make-up is very different to your everyday make-up. This is because for many of us we do not ever wear white or ivory colours and if we do we always wear it with a darker colour. Unfortunately our favourite bridal colours of white and ivory are very draining and can make you look very washed out and pale looking.
If I was doing your make-up for everyday or a party, I would do it very different to how I would do your wedding day make-up.
Also it does not help that on the biggest day of your life that your emotions and nerves are out to play havoc and this can cause your skin to drain with colour or for you to go very red. So all this needs to be taken into account when doing your wedding day make-up.
And one last thing that does not help with applying the make-up is that you will get hot with nerves and sweat (or gentle glow!) and if you were to apply your normal everyday make-up then it would not last all day for your wedding.
The key is…
 Not to overload the make-up. You still want to look like the woman your partner feel in love with. If you wear too much make-up with a pale wedding dress, it will look like you have to much make-up on and you can end up looking quite drag queenie!
 You want enough make-up to give you a natural glow like you have just come back from holiday. The whole idea in doing the make-up to enhance your natural features and bring out your eyes and your lips, so everyone can see your natural, true beauty.
 You will need more powder on your wedding day as this will help when you get a bit hot and nervous and sweat a bit! The extra powder ‘drinks’ the sweat so that you do not look shinny on camera.
 We then check the final make-up finish by putting up a white sheet on you so you can see what it looks like with the white compared to your everyday top and we always try and get you in the sort of light the venue has, so that you can see how the make-up looks with the true light and colour reflection of your wedding day.
 And finally, we would then take pictures of you so you can see what it looks like on camera.
