Top Tips for Wedding Dress Shopping

·      Make an appointment at a reputable bridal shop

·      Speak to your friends for recommendations

·      Take someone with you to your appointment, but not too many people as this can have a negative affect!

·      Have an open mind about styles of dresses – they all look different when they are on

·      At your appointment let the consultant know your ideas for your dress, they may also make suggestions

·      Start looking for your bridal gown 8-12 months prior to your big day.  Gowns can take 6 months to order and you don’t want to be too rushed!

·      Some shops allow you to take pictures but some are quite strict so check first

·      Don’t be pushed into purchasing a dress – you will know when you have found THE ONE!

  ·    And most importantly......HAVE FUN!

Northbrook Park Bridal Fashion Show & Wedding Fayre

On Sunday 25th January we were delighted to be back at Northbrook Park.   Set in 120 acres of parkland with views over rolling countryside it is a breathtaking setting.

Over 200 brides walked through their doors to see an array of exhibitors, cakes, florists photographers and more. The exhibitors are each hand picked and invited back each year - just like Amaryllis for the past 8 years!

We held two fashion shows in the orangery,  showcasing a small selection of their bridal gowns and bridesmaids dresses that are available in store.   

Giant Love Letters stood as the back drop for the show and were very popular amongst brides & grooms.

Froyle Park Wedding Fayre

We were very privileged to be invited to Froyle Park  to showcase a selection of our bridal gowns at their wedding fayre in November.  Froyle Park is a luxury country estate on the Hampshire / Surrey border.

It was a beautiful day with the sun shinning and all the trusted suppliers from the surrounding areas on hand to provide you all with advice, tips & ideas for your wedding day.

We are delighted that we are the exclusive bridal wear company that Froyle Park recommends, and we support both Froyle Park & their sister wedding venue Northbrook Park.

Our fashion shows were supported by the wonderful Toast Master Iain.  He is truly wonderful and a joy to have at your wedding!   Claire from Colour Technics, provided the models with their makeup and hair creations and the whole setting was made even more wonderful by Chanelle Aristide.

Jacques from Real Simple Photography provided Amaryllis with some pictures of our fashion show.  All of the dresses were worn by friends and past brides of Amaryllis and it was such fun to have them there with us.  We think that you will agree that they all did a fabulous job!

Designer Event - Sincerity Bridal

WOW it's has been a fabulous few months here at Amaryllis Bridalwear Alton.  Wedding Fayres, in-store designer events and Christmas is now just around the corner!! ( oops I jut said the Christmas word!)


The end of October saw a fabulous Sincerity Bridal Designer event here at Amaryllis, and the dresses were absolutely amazing!

Sincerity offer such an array of styles that they really do have something for everyone and with the prices ranging from around £700 - £1100 the pricing is very appealing!







We invited local companies Eden Blooms, Sitting Pretty, Unique Wedding Productions, My Sweet Gems, Finishing Touches Hire Wear  & Galileo Photography to display their products in store for the weekend. Offering brides an insight to what they have available.
 We even had a bride in tears watching a video from Unique Wedding Productions!

We had a fully booked weekend with every bride ordering their dream bridal gown.  One bride was even getting married in February 2015 and we happily helped her out when she was having a mild panic!
