Our great experience of Amaryllis was over a two year period – the venue was found and the date set for two years hence and my excited daughter and I began The Hunt for The Dress. My daughter looked for a wedding dress in London and we had made appointments locally in Farnham and found lots of dresses. While looking online, my daughter saw a Maggie Sottero dress she liked and found the nearest supplier was Amaryllis in Alton so she made an appointment. We expected more of the same and the grey weather as we drove there matched our grey mood – just another job to do, we thought.

Waking in to the shop was like walking in to a perfect dream.

The service offered to us was perfect. The ladies were helpful, informative and offered constructive advice as they shoved large car sponges down the back of the dresses and clamped large frocks round my daughter’s small frame. They were slick but unhurried and showed kindness and patience and murmured gently as dress after dress, style after style were tried. They were quite unperturbed when my daughter wanted to postpone deciding between her final two choices – their attitude was that it was important that the Bride felt the dress was the right one.

We returned a couple of month’s later and my daughter made her choice – veils and tiaras were tried on but we were advised to wait until the dress was altered and fitted perfectly – no pushy sales for the ladies in Amaryllis, just good advice.

The seamstress recommended by the shop was amazing, also calm, reassuring and very very good at her job – she did lots of extra work for us – velvet stole and handbag making and bridesmaids dress alterations and all done with great skill and accommodation – Aniko, you are a star! She rebuilt my daughter’s dress changing pull ties for a zip, shortening and taking in – all in her stride. Amazing.

The accessories (veil, tiara, shrugs for bride and 6 bridesmaids) all were purchased and all perfect and also at excellent prices – much less than online!

I am so pleased my daughter found Amaryllis – in all the hurly burly and mini-crises around the wedding, we could cling to the thought that at least the dress was perfect and that everything to do with the dress is fantastic and worry free - you were the totally perfect star. You all have our strongest recommendation. Thank you very much. "
"I would like to thank Charlotte and her team for a relaxed and fun appointment last Saturday during the Justin Alexander event, although I am not getting married until Nov 2016 I found my dress and this is thanks to Charlotte and the team! From the moment I walked in until finally making my decision after another visit on Monday Charlotte was helpful with lots of patience, I didn't feel rushed whilst I tried on a lot of dresses and especially when I repeatedly tried on the 2 dresses that I fell in love with! "I went into amaryllis hoping to get an idea of what sort of dress I would like, what would suit me etc. I didn't realise there would be so mane and so I came out having fallen in love with my dream dress.
From the word go Charlotte & her team have been nothing but helpful. When I was trying on dresses Charlotte made me feel comfortable and gave me an honest opinion which I really valued. I was treated like the only bride and with such patience.

"Dear Amaryllis,

From the very start of my hunt for \'the dress\' Charlotte and all the wonderful staff at Amaryllis were supportive and welcoming. Despite other shops having an issue with it Charlotte was happy to let my father join the rest of the bridal party for my appointment. I had a rough idea of what I was looking for, something traditional for a military wedding, but wasn\'t sure exactly what I wanted.

Although I thought I had found \'the dress\' in a Justin Alexander dress, the sample was three sizes too big and I had to have sponges tucked round my bottom to see the fit. I needed reassuring about the dress and the fact that I wouldn\'t need to wear a bra when it was fitted, something I was a little apprehensive about! Charlotte was understanding and promised me that one of their recommended seamstresses Aniko could work wonders and the dress would fit me in all the right places, when ordered in the right size. Despite being a little nervous about this I am so glad I trusted Charlotte\'s sage advice. She and her staff where right on every level.

I can\'t thank Charlotte, Aniko and the rest of the staff at Amaryllis enough for their kindness, patience, understanding and for being so accommodating around the Christmas period when we collected my dream dress which was steamed perfectly! I unreservedly recommend Amaryllis to all other brides to be.
